Rob began experimenting with airborne wind energy in early 2006, developing a simple mechanical system that hinted at the tremendous power available in cross-wind kite energy. After being introduced to Miles Loyd's paper in 2007, Rob dropped his more traditional career plans to focus full-time on Windlift.
