Pierre Rivard
President and CEO - Magenn
Pierre Rivard brings a 25-year background in business and technology, including business-launch & venture-growth, finance, business development, operations, human resources, research, product development, and organizational change. Prior to joining MAGENN Power, he held the President & CEO position at Hydrogenics Corp. for 12 years, a NASDAQ-listed technology company specializing in hydrogen fuel cells. He is the co-author on 7 patents. Prior to Hydrogenics, Mr. Rivard held the President & CEO position of Med-Express, a medical courier company, and served as an aerospace engineer in the Canadian Air Force, where he received certification on a number of Aircraft. From these past work experiences and personal involvements, Mr. Rivard has developed a keen interest in applying his knowledge and abilities to develop sustainable energy. He earned an MBA from the Ivey School of Business, University of Western Ontario, a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Toronto, and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada. He holds a private pilot license, is a certified parachutist and scuba diver, and was among the first to experience hang-gliding in Canada in the 1970’s, Mr. Rivard is married to Catherine Paquet, with two children.
